Talel McBriar is a singer-songwriter from Nelson BC. While her sound merges traditional folk with alternative rock influences, the 22-year-old’s haunting voice delivers reflective
and insightful lyrics. Delivered through stirring vocals and emotive instrumentals, Talel's lyrics are honest and cathartic as she confronts her anxieties and observations through
song. "Talel effortlessly conveys her discomfort with the present times in a way I once thought required three or four times her life experience," says Josh Lehman, producer of The 6 Mile Sessions. Raised on folk and alternative rock, trained in classical piano, and
introduced to guitar through the bluegrass scene in her teens, Talel's influences are vast and evident in her unique sound. In 2018, her original song October won her and bandmate Ella Korth a Kootenay Music Award for ‘Best Original Roots Song.’ In 2019 Ella
and Talel performed for passengers on board the VIA Rail Artist on Board program from Halifax NS to Vancouver BC. With an interest in furthering her music education, Talel attended the Selkirk College Music and Technology Program and graduated in 2021with
a diploma in songwriting and vocal studies. She has performed extensively over the past several years in the duo Ella and Talel, as a solo act, and with her band. Following the release of multiple music videos and a single in May 2021, Talel's debut EP titled Flood Season was released on July 8th, 2022. Throughout the Summer of 2022, Talel and her band traveled to variou locations in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest
to share and support the release of Flood Season.
