Cara McCandless
Cara McCandless is a prolific singer-songwriter and guitar player who doesn’t like to linger too long in one genre, but her live show is a blend of heartfelt blues, folk, rock, and country.
When Cara got her first guitar it was a life changing moment that became a passion and a journey of self discovery and reflection through songwriting. From that moment, Cara took to writing and has written over 160 songs and counting.
Cara had released three albums. Gypsy Sea, her debut album, Cara McCandless, her self titled acoustic album, and DADGAD, a bunch of songs written in an alternate tuning. Cara is set to record a fourth album in her home based studio in Victoria, BC that will showcase her bluesability.
Cara’s passion for music extends past writing, to recording, and to playing live where she shines and shares her stories and her talent.
Francis Henson
Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Francis released his first first-length album, Roots, in 2017 and has released an EP each year since. The first half of 2020 saw the release of his Americana-inspired album, With A Little Bit of Grace, including the popular track “Stuck Down In Paris With You.” Henson is known for smooth guitar phrasing, unambiguous songwriting, and hooks that remain in your head long after you’ve heard them.
Francis Baptiste
Francis Baptiste is an Indigenous songwriter and music journalist from the Osoyoos Indian Band. His forthcoming debut LP, Snəqsilxʷ (Family), features songs in N̓syilxčn̓, a highly endangered language, spoken fluently by only approximately 150 people. The first single from his LP was released in November. He is also a music journalist who writes for Exclaim, Permanent Rain Press, and Vancouver Weekly.
Earl Jenkins
Earl is a singer/songwriter with an acoustic guitar and a big voice. He writes songs in a variety of styles, from up-tempo to introspective, and he likes to put his own musical spin on some of his favourite cover songs. His influences are all over the place, from Prince to The Tragically Hip, from Bach to Benny Goodman to Damien Rice. When Earl performs, he gives everything to his audience, and enjoys playing songs that people love hearing.
Danci Camacho
Dani Camacho is a Filipino-Canadian artist and vocal coach from Vancouver, BC. As a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, she writes from personal experiences, with a sound influenced by folk and pop music.
Her passion for music and love for singing started when she was six years old. Dani’s musicality has been reinforced through her studies in theory, ear training, sight singing, music history, and years of private vocal lessons and choral music training. She finds joy and fulfillment in teaching, inspiring her students to find their voice and encouraging them to embrace what makes them special.
Augustiner
Augustiner is an emerging folk rock singer/songwriter originally from Pembroke, Ontario who calls Vancouver, BC home. Raised in a community that shared and blended genres, promoted love and passion, his music became no different.
His raw vocals and passion are powerfully delivered in his recently released EP C.O.L.D. and his continually evolving stage presence.
Alvin Brendan
Alvin Brendan is an up and coming guitarist from Richmond, BC. Despite his youth, Alvin has found himself in a multitude of various musical situations spanning many genres and styles and therefore has given him many performance opportunities both live and in the studio. This versatility has allowed him to share the stage with singers and bands coming from many musical traditions such as pop, R&B, folk, rock, country, etc. Alvin has found himself very much at home in the studio, where his love of crafting sensible and musical parts becomes a big asset. He has become well acquainted with the growing scene of studios and producers in the lower mainland.
Alex Flock
Alex Flock is a versatile guitarist playing a diverse array of music. As a solo performer he combines bass, melody, choral accompaniment and percussive techniques to create a sound so rich and full you may find it hard to believe all that sound is coming from a single instrument. His performances are high energy and traverse many styles. Traditional Travis pickin’ tunes, instrumental arrangements of pop songs and even his own impressive original works can all be expected at a performance.
