Richard Craven is a professional saxophonist, painting pictures with sound that reflects his love of jazz, blues, and contemporary music; often improvised and instrumental that stems from many musical traditions and influences. Hailing from England with over 35 years of experience, Richard’s role models are Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Grover Washington, Count Basie, Stan Getz, Billie Holiday, Dave Koz, Sade, George Benson, David Bowie, and many others. Following the lead of such trailblazers he has also developed his own style infusing R&B, jazz, funk, and worldbeat rhythms.

“My attitude and style have evolved from when I was a younger, when I always focused on being flashy and demonstrating how fast I could play. My skill set has matured to depths not only as a saxophonist, but also as a musician. Hanging on one note for a length of time can create so much emotion and bring a tear to the eye.”
