AutoHeartVan is your cool uncle in a cape, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who isn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd. His sound is a beautiful blend: queer misfit exophonic folk. Based on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ territory, his music has travelled from Port Hardy, BC to Seville, Spain and San Cristóbal, Venezuela, with influences ranging from flamenco and blues to ranchera and 90s rock. Instrumentally, he uses the full range of sounds offered by the autoharp, punctuated by the quijada de burro (or donkey jaw).
